What is a Profile Page?

An FYItag profile page is a great way to get more visibility online. It consolidates all of your essential information into one place. People can follow you over multiple social media networks, find out more about you, and tell others how great you are! It’s the perfect complement to an already established online presence or an ideal solution for those looking to take the next step into the world of web pages and social media marketing like Facebook, Twitter and others. Best of all, it’s free!


Creating an FYItag Profile Page:

To create your FYItag profile page, go to www.fyitag.com. In the upper right hand corner, click on “Sign Up.” The next screen asks you to provide some basic information:

 

Real Name:
First, you'll need to provide your Real Name. This is important for any future support calls and to ensure that we're talking to the right person. We don't share your Real Name with anyone. Back to top

User Name:
This is one of the most important pieces of information in your profile. The User Name is how you will be identified and found by other users. It's also how you will log in to your FYItag Profile Page. It should be your name, the name of your business, or something easy to remember that relates to who you are or what you do. Let’s say your company's name is “WonderWidget.” You would want your User Name to be “WonderWidget” so there would be no confusion or misrepresentation. Back to top

Password:
You'll use your password to log in to your FYItag Profile Page. Make it something that's easy for YOU to remember, but don’t pick anything easy for others to figure out, such as your birthday or your children's names. A good tip is to mix upper and lower case letters and include non-alphanumerical characters like “!” and “;” in your password. Back to top

Email
Next, enter an email address that we can use to confirm that you've signed up for an FYItag Profile Page and to contact you with updates and support information. We won't share your email address with anyone else.Back to top

Choose a Subscription:
This selection tells us if you a business or a personal user of FYItag. All profiles are free on FYItag regardless of what type you chose. Choosing the right subscription type will allow us to make sure you’re represented in the correct way. If you don’t have a business but want to self-promote, we recommend that you choose the “Business User" option. This will better suit your needs. Back to top

Security Code:
This randomly generated code prevents automated hacking systems from breaking into the website. Simply type what you see, paying attention to upper- and lower-case letters. If you have a hard time reading the code, simple refresh the page in your browser and a different image will appear. Back to top

Thank You Screen:
This is a personal note from our CEO about how much we appreciate you being a part of FYItag! You will also receive a confirmation email at the email address you provided. Within that email is a URL that will point you to the profile page where you can start entering information about yourself or your business. Back to top

Profile Picture:
This picture will represent you or your business everywhere your FYItag Profile shows up. For best results, pick a picture that will look good within an 85 x 85 pixel square. You can always change this picture in the future. Back to top

Detail Information:
This section will be partially filled out with the information you initially provided. The * next to certain fields mean that they are required for internal purposes. You can choose to make each item of information private by checking the Lock icon next to each field. If you choose to make a field private, it will not show up in search results. Back to top

Business Name:
The Business Name field is what your business is really called. Sometimes, this can be different from what you chose as your FYItag User Name, so make sure it is accurate. Back to top

Business Type:
The Business Type is the category that your business falls under. For better results, it should be something common in the industry. Even if you think your business type is “The most awesome thing ever” it won’t go far for people trying to find you. Stick to the basics. Back to top

Business Summary:
Provide a brief description of your business. Keep it short and to the point. Try to use keywords or phrases someone may use to find you. Back to top

Location:
Enter an address where people can physically find you or your business, or send you information. Use the first field for a street address. If necessary, use the second field for an apartment or suite number. Back to top

Contact Information:
Contact Information tells people how to communicate with you by phone or email. You have the option of using separate email addresses to communicate with FYItag and with the people you are connecting with. Back to top

Phone Number:
A phone number is required so that FYItag can provide good and prompt support. Like other information in your profile, this can be made private from the outside world by checking the lock icon next to it. Back to top

Your URL or Website Link:
This is the website address that represents you or your company. If you don’t already have a website, your FYItag Profile will make a great alternative. Back to top

Email ID:
The email ID field will be used for email communication from FYItag. Back to top

Alternate Email:

The Alternate Email address will be the public address that users will see and use on your profile. The email ID and Alternate Email address can be the same if you wish. If you use the same email address for both, please complete both fields.  Back to top

More about me:
The More About Me area is where you can go into more detail about you, your product or service. Go ahead, do a little bragging! Back to top

Social Media Connections:
The Social Media Connections area is where you enter all of your social media "handles" so that people can easily follow you from your profile. If you don’t have any social media connections like Facebook or Twitter yet, FYItag can help with that too! As you move through the list, each network connection will ask you for slightly different information. For Facebook, the “Title” is what people will see on the Profile page, so make it very understandable. An example would be “Check out WonderWidgets on Facebook!” Back to top

Profile Page URL:
The Profile/page URL is where people can find you on Facebook. An example would be http://www.facebook.com/pages/wwidgets. If you don’t know this URL you can get it by going to your profile page on Facebook. If you need additional help, email us at support [at] fyitag [dot] com Back to top

Rank:
The Rank field lets you set the order in which each network will appear on your Profile. For example, if you have five different social networks and you want your Facebook connection to show up second in your list of 5 ways to connect, simply put a “2” into this field. Back to top

Hover Text:
Hover Text is a great way to help potential followers understand what this social connection is all about. For example, if your Facebook connection is all about products and where to buy them and your Twitter connection is all about support, then say that in this field. When the user hovers over this connection on your profile, a popup text explaining the details of the connection will be displayed. For each connection you fill out, make sure to push “save” just below the “Set Hover Text” Field. This “save” action also saves all of the changes to the fields you made above it. If you need to add more social connection, repeat the procedure. If you make a mistake, push “cancel” and start over. Back to top

The “Reset Password” area:
If you've gotten to this point, you have already set a password, so you can leave this field blank. If you would like to change your password, fill in the new password, confirm it and click on “Reset” for the changes to take effect. Clicking on “Update” at the bottom of the form will NOT update password changes. Back to top

Saving your information:
Once all of your changes have been made, click on “Update” at the bottom of the screen. You will be directed to a preview of what your Profile page will look like. If for any reason you are unhappy with your profile page, you can select “Edit” in the left hand navigation bar or the top of profile page.
